Counselling and therapy in Newington near Sittingbourne and Gillingham

Welcome

I am a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I am bound by their Ethical Code of Conduct and subject to its professional complaints procedure.

I have a private practise in Newington with easy reach of Sittingbourne, Gillingham and the Medway Towns. I offer confidential short term (minimum 6 sessions) or long term (open-ended) counselling depending on your needs and what you hope to achieve. I offer counselling in relation to a wide range of issues. I have worked with clients in their early twenties to clients in their eighties with various concerns including: bereavement, depression, anxiety, difficult emotions, loneliness, redundancy, relationship difficulties and questions of meaning.

Why Counselling?

Counselling - sometimes referred to as "the talking cure" offers an opportunity to explore thoughts, feelings and concerns that are important to you and which may be too painful or difficult to share with friends and family.
I offer you an opportunity to work toward living a more satisfying and resourceful way by enabling you to let go of unhelpful ways of being. Counselling can also support you in coming to terms with accepting anything that can not be changed.

What does it involve?

Counselling involves meeting once a week for a fifty minutes session at a set time and place. Before we commit to a course of therapy, I usually suggest that we meet for an initial (free) session. This will enable us to discuss your reasons for coming to therapy as well as to get a sense of how we might work together. In this session, you will also have the opportunity to address any questions you have about the process.

'And the day came when the risk to
remain tight in a bud became more
painful than the risk it took to blossom'.
